CEBU TRIP : Day 1

At exactly 1:55 P.M. I left Manila thru Cebu Pacific Air 5J-581 its a little gloomy 

 and arrived at Mactan International Airport ahead of time from the expected time of arrival .. after I got my baggage I didn't took the Airport Taxi .. instead I took the metered white taxi .. once you got out of the arrival door you just have to walk right and at the end of the building there's a small pedestrian lane cross and you'll see the stairs up go that way and when you reached the top which is the departure area .. there are white taxi's in lined .. a security guard gave me a piece op paper with some contact numbers and the taxi details in it .. and I asked some friends who are residing in Cebu if there's a need for me to gave more than what is stated in the meter (well the Manila style cabs) and they said no just gave exact fare or if you have a change they'll be giving it to you .. heading to the city we passed by Marcelo Fernan Bridge the newer bridge ..

after settling in I met with TB Tina and her friends we went to Plaza Independencia .. So I got a chance to somehow have some night photo op on the place .. :)

within the Plaza is the main entrance for the Fort San Pedro, which is used as a military defense built by Spanish & indigenous Cebuanos during the Spanish era ..

And just in time for the Lakbay Rizal program of Department of Tourism in celebration for the 150th year of Dr. Jose Rizal, I have my Rizal Passport stamped .. In Fort San Pedro the S.S. Espana docked in Cebu on August 2, 1896 for a routine one-day stop over. After breakfast on board, Commander Cancinero took Rizal under custody to the Spanish Military Commander of Cebu, Gen. Adulfo Montero in the Military Headquarters.

before the National Museum is located within the Fort San Pedro but it was already transferred .. and the only things left in the room are some paintings ..

after the night walk Tina and her friends left for Osmena Circle as I'm going to Corner FM to meet with CS Cebu .. :) .. then after dinner we went to Ayala Center for the Fete Dela Musique Cebu 2011 .. meet some other CS and other from Alliance Francaise ..

the night hasn't ended yet since Fete Dela Musique ends we transferred to The Outpost for more Musique Trip night .. 

and among the group what I enjoyed most is the SKA music .. :)

and at about 3:00 a.m. we called it a night .. :)

CEBU TRIP: Preparation

As I am trying the spontaneous type of living .. still planning is necessary .. my cebu trip ended as a Solo Trip since my colleagues from work can't make it on the shed dates .. so i choose to go on with my trip and It's going to be my first solo trip .. So got my list of places I wanted to visit/see .. and stuffs that i need such as:

• medicines (first-aid)
• map
• contact numbers for emergency
• gadgets : camera, celphone, chargers
• ziplocks in different sizes
• emergency fund but don't have it in cash
• just enough clothes
• jacket
• ticket (and a spare copy) 
• ID
• kikay kits

This time i'm learning how to travel light :)

Cheapest Way to Terminal 3 Airport

Everytime I went for a travel .. from one town to another .. I always booked in Cebu Pacific Air .. And my only way to the airport is taxi .. Easiest yet expensive .. My Cebu City Solo Trip is "somehow" a backpacking trip, trying to do a less expense trip and a DIY as well I did some research and ask some other travelers too .. I wanted to try commuting to NAIA Terminal 3 .. 

So from work I took the LRT 1 and head to EDSA Station then from there I walked heading to the MRT Station. Under the MRT Station there are jeepneys heading to Nichols - Terminal 3 but they'll just dropped you near the Parking Area and you have to walked from there to the Airport .. Another option is the Shuttle Bus that head straight to NAIA Terminal 3 and it'll dropped you in the entrance ..

LRT            = P 15.00

Shuttle Bus  = P 20.00

Total           = P 35.00

If i'll take a taxi it'll cost me ranging from P200.00 - P350.00 depends on the traffic.

16th French Film Festival

The 16th French Film Festival started since June 9, 2011

it started in Shangri-la Plaza Mall until the 19th of June and continued in Ayala Center Cebu June 23-25 .. and its about to end June 28 until the 2nd of July at UP Diliman Film Institute ..

I was able to watch L'AUTRE (The Other One) ..

a movie about a girl named Anne Marie who has a peaceful break up with her boyfriend Alex, who she doesn't love anymore. But when Alex already had a new girl, Anne Marie got insanely jealous.

RED MANGO

Another fave froyo store of mine .. RED MANGO .. :) .. especially their green tea yogurt .. at red mango is where my addiction to froyo starts .. :) .. a guilt free ice cream ..

this time i had .. green tea yogurt .. with 3 toppings : chocolate syrup, cheesecake, and mochi ..

BEABI - for travel essentials

In travelling it is more convenient to bring enough or just a little extra of your stuffs .. like for instance shampoo, conditioner, lotions, etc ... those in liquid forms .. Just in time before my travel to Singapore i found this store in Sm North named BEABI .. i dont know what the name means .. but when i checked what they're selling .. the stuffs that i need .. 

they have containers for different kinds of items and in different sizes .. for cologne/perfume instead of bringing the whole bottle you can just bring just enough for the travel period .. in pump or in spray .. containers for soap, contact lenses, powder, retainers .. etc ..

bag organizers in different sizes and colors too .. depends on your preference .. 

i got the bottles, and the ziplocks in different sizes .. a great help and not that space consuming in my bag .. :)

SLICE N' DICE

It's been years that i've been seeing a small area in Quezon Ave & West Ave of Slice N' Dice with a Char-Grilled Steak for P99 .. quite affordable for a steak .. but i dont have any chance of trying it .. not until i started taking the LRT on my way home from work .. When i checked out whats in Walter Mart I saw Slice N' Dice just in time that i am looking for something to eat .. :)

they do have a lot of choices and even combo meals .. 

and their budget buddies .. :)

on my second time to dine i was with a friend and i ordered the steak salpicao .. lots of garlic .. yummy!

while my friend had the char-grilled steak .. and i so love it too (take note im not into beef but i can make an exception) .. i love the taste .. just right for me .. so what we did was half of my salpicao in exchange to my friends half char-grilled T-bone steak .. :)

for the veggies we ordered their kangkong .. i like it too way different from chowking

and who can say no to a freebie?? .. the meals goes with a free soup .. :)

O MY YOGURT

On my way home I took the long way which is passing thru Sky Garden and another froyo store got me .. O MY YOGURT .. and i'm still on my froyo cravings ..  

It's also a self-service type of froyo corner :) .. better have a good grip coz everything that's on your cup will be charged on you ..

there are a lot of toppings to choose from .. fresh fruits .. dry fruits .. and other variety of toppings and syrups .. your own choice ..

well as for me as always .. the love of chocolate wins .. :D 

with my own perfect toppings fresh strawberries & crushed cookies ..

YOGATO

i'm into froyo (frozen yogurt) lately .. i'm so loving it :) .. guilt free and healthy ice cream .. with the extreme hot weather we're having lately here in Manila .. something cold can somehow ease ;) .. I've seen this stand board in front of teriyaki boy .. effective advertising coz it can really catch passers by attention with the colors .. :)  

they already have sets of combinations if you dont want to think of what to combine with your froyos that ranges fron P125.00 - P155.00 Pesos .. they have :
