AYALA MUSEUM: International Museum Day 2012

This is one great opportunity to visit the Ayala Museum with free entrance fee, in celebration of International Museum Day which is being celebrated worldwide. It will be on May 18, 2012 (Friday).
Last year I've got the chance to visit the said museum and I had a great time checking each floor as it showcase different collections.

Fourth Floor:
  • A Millenium of Contact, wherein more than 500 ceramics are displayed and informations about it.
  • Embroidered Multiples, which shows the collection of garments in the Philippines.
  • Gold of Ancestors, which exhibits more than 1000 gold objects and what are they for. And also they have a video presentation of information about golds. And watch out you might be stepping on it as you watch the video. ;)
Third Floor:
  • Pioneers of Philippine Art, the artworks of Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, and Fernando Zobel. I spend some more time in this part staring at their paintings. :)
Second Floor:
  • The Diorama Experience, which showcase the Philippine History and how the heroes fight and sacrifice for freedom. And even the Philippine Presidents from Pres. Emilio Aguinaldo to present.
  • Boat Gallery, showcase the different ships that were used for warfare, transport, and dwelling.
As with the ground floor exhibits there changes by schedule. There is also a shop in the third floor wherein you can buy some souvenirs.

If only I'm around the area i surely would spend my some time again there. ;)

Hillsong United Tour 2011: The Aftermath

It was May 2011 when I heard that Hillsong United will be in the Philippines again through my cousins post. Immediately I checked on ticketnet of the available seats and it was almost full. I informed my friend about it and she was excited to watch as well (I was with her the last time Hillsong United was here :D ). My other cousin who is living in the US read about the thread that we had and she message me in private saying .. "let me know how much is the ticket and it'll be my birthday gift for you and please choose the VIP seat" .. but unfortunately there was no more VIP seats available but only the upper box seats and only 4 seats available so I immediately bought the 4 tickets as I don't want to take the general admission seats .. :)

my buddy angel came along .. :)
the coliseum was filled up .. it was a night of praise and worship .. it was not about the singers but it was about worshiping the Greater One Above .. just like the last time they are here .. I'm looking forward for the next Hillsong United Tour in the Philippines ..

My Encounter With A Victim

It's a Sunday .. Rainy Sunday afternoon and I went to church .. and the topic is about the Golden Rule:
pic is from cheerleadinginfo.typepad.com
same as "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You" .. and its difference with "Don't Do Unto Others What You Don't Want Others Do Unto You" ..

and we were ask if we saw the movie Pay It Forward .. and I did .. :) .. then the life vest ad was also being shown..

Pastor Ed discussed it all and even how to embrace it ..

THE ENCOUNTER:
And then after church around 6:30 p.m.  it was still raining but not that hard so I walked going to Quezon Ave., and waited for an FX bound for SM North as I was thinking of having my dinner there. Some minutes pass yet there's still no FX. When someone asked me what time is it, so I answered him. Then he said thanks he started talking to me about what happened to him. The man is a victim of snatching wherein he didn't noticed that he was being robbed in the jeepney.
My first reaction is this might be a scam. He might be tricking me or what. Then he asked for help as he lost all his money and lucky enough for him his cellphone was not taken from him as it was hidden. Just for him to leave me alone I gave him small amount of money which lead him to be teary eyed. He told me he lives in Cavite which is way too far from our current location. He told me he is a professional and a CPA. Maybe he felt that I am having doubts he showed me his ID. And he said he'd swallowed all his pride and asked me to lend him the fare that he need just to be able to get home. He'll just replaced it by sending thru bank or cellphone load. If I don't believe him I can talk to his wife.
Then I felt like no matter if it's real or not there's a Greater One to judge. Then thoughts flashbacks that I've been in the City for years and an incident like it NEVER happened to me. I am blessed enough and protected. So I gave him the money that he needs for his fare going home to Cavite City. It took him some time to stop thanking me. Then he asked for my number so his wife can call me and thank me as well. But I declined to gave him my number. Then he said so they can also repay me thru load. Then I just said .. "One day someone will also approach you and ask for help, just also help that person" then I smiled. Then he thanked me again and I watched him leave.

LESSON:
  • Don't let doubt swallows the whole you .. there are a lot of people who tricks people just to get money .. but remember there are also people who will also tell you the truth.
  • Give and one day without you noticing it you already had it back even twice or in threefolds.
  • You might be being tested by Him. :)
  • Learn from your encounters.

This is not to brag of what I've done, I just want to share one my encounters wherein I myself learned something. Hoping in some ways you'll learned from this too. :)

SM MOA Eye: Tallest & Biggest Ferris Wheel in the Philippines

It was November 2011 when I noticed the construction of the ferris wheel at the mini theme park of SM Mall of Asia, when I go back in the area February 2012 it was already operational. I learned that it opened last December 16, 2011.

The SM MOA Eye is the largest and tallest ferris wheel here in the Philippines as it towers 160 feet. Just like the Singapore flyer and the London Eye it is bears resemblance to an eye because by riding it you can have the best view of the area.

SM MOA EYE
It has 36 gondolas and 6 of it are the VIP gondolas. Each gondolas can accommodate 6 persons. For the regular gondolas which are the 30 are in fully air conditioned, with seats, and clear windows, while the VIP gondolas which are also in fully air conditioned has a leather seats and with tinted windows.
SM MOA EYE GONDOLA
When we were there lucky enough the que is not really that long. The ride is a complete turn and moves slowly for more or less 10 minutes. Throughout the ride you'll be able to enjoy the 360 degrees view of the surroundings. When we ride the sunset was already done and it was already almost nighttime.

And it is also important to be aware and take note of the safety rules which are being posted near the ticket booth. And it states:

Location: SM Mall of Asia Amusement Park, along the Seaside Bay

Fees: Entance Fee for the Amusement Park is free
- Regular Gondola : P150 / person
- VIP Gondola : P200 / person

The best time for me to ride the SM MOA Eye is during:
- the Sunset
- the weekend nights fireworks display

have a great ride!

PAMPANGA: Crucifixion On A Good Friday

In wanting to witness a crucifixion or the re-enactment of Christ's death and the only place I know where they do it is in Pampanga, I was able to convinced my friend who lives there to accompany me. Early morning of some years ago, a good friday, I and one friend left Manila for San Fernando, Pampanga to meet my friend. When we arrived in San Fernando along the way you'll see people carrying a cross while walking barefooted.

BAGUIO CITY: Oh My Gulay!

On my previous Baguio Trip, it was just a quick trip to attend a family event but I still tried to make a list of some place I want to go or restaurants to try .. So I make a search on what else to do or where else to go in Baguio City .. I came across Oh My Gulay .. but I saw where it was located but I didn't have a chance to go there .. so on my second trip for 2011 .. me, hubby, and cousin went to have our late lunch there .. it is located along Session Road .. Look for the green building named La Azotea and it's in the top most floor ..

BAGUIO CITY: Glenn 50's Diner

The Glenn 50's Diner which is located in General Luna Road in the corner of Leonard Wood Road and Brent Road is recommended to me by my aunt to try. I, hubby, and my cousin decided to have our lunch there. The diner somehow looks cute with the light blue and pink colors.

At Mines View Park there's a new store called Cordillera World .. wherein you can see the culture of Cordillera .. you can also wear the tribe's costumes and have some picture around ..

BAGUIO CITY: Bell Church

The bell is also one of the spots in my itinerary once I'm in Baguio City. On the way to Strawberry Fields in La Trinidad I always dropped by at the Bell Church. It is located in the north of Baguio along the road going to La Trinidad, Benguet.

LA TRINIDAD: Strawberry Fields

Just a few minutes away from the downtown area of Baguio, La Trinidad's Strawberry Fields or better known as Strawberry Farm has always been a part of my itinerary when in the city. This is where you can have your fresh strawberries. Not only strawberries because on some part they also plant lettuce.
the biggest strawberry I've seen :)

BAGUIO CITY: Cemetery of Negativism

The Lost Cemetery of Negativism is one spot in Camp John Hay that I keep on visiting .. I find it funny and at the same time with sense. :)

Written on the entrance:
"Negativism is man's greatest self imposed infliction, his most limiting factor, his heaviest burden. No more for here is buried the world's negativism for all time. Those who rest here have died not in vain - but for you a stern reminder. As you leave this hill remember that the rest of your life, Be More Positive.
Have a good day! Treat today like its your last though its the first of the rest."  - CJH

A Quick Trip within NORTH COTABATO

Out of curiosity, I decided to try the Cotabato City Airport route on my home vacation trip ..
it was years ago when I last visited Cotabato City .. It was during my elementary days .. Those who are not used to travelling within the city are quite scared because of the things that's happening and being shown in the news .. I am not expecting that much but I wasn't disappointed .. the airport was small but easy access .. and I was fetch by my brother-in-law since ill be staying at their house which is 3 hours drive from the city ..
We passed through some part of the City .. I saw a part of the second largest river in the Mindanao which is the Rio Grande De Mindanao .. the City looks clean .. :) .. and we just dropped by at Jollibee for our meals -

An Encounter With A TAXI DRIVER

Feeling lazy, it's already 6:30 in the morning an hour after I turned off my alarm .. I know too well that I'm going to be late for work .. :)
It's already 8:00 a.m. when I was able to get out from my house (which is supposedly I'm already at work at that time), and the line for fx was way too long .. Next option: TAXI .. :)
It didn't take long a taxi finally stopped in front of me .. I asked the driver if he can take me to San Lazaro he didn't respond but when I was sitting already he asked where he will take me I said SM San Lazaro .. from SM San Lazaro I can give directions on how we can get to the office .. And he just said alright SM San Lazaro .. He's got a GPS!!! He looked for SM San Lazaro then he choose the fastest way and off we go .. The taxi is not like the new one but its fully equip inside .. His GPS is the instructed one .. like "in 200 meters turn left" so you'll hear its instruction from time to time .. Unlike other taxi's the driver display his drivers license in the dashboard :) .. he's got a car stereo, some mirrors, phone with tv, and a webcam inside the taxi .. at that moment he was listening to a traffic update while I was observing him .. then he took a wipe off marker and started writing in one of the mirror and he wrote .. TRAFFIC: EDSA: ORTIGAS Meralco Area, Makati Southbound .. And I was like "Cool!" .. I was able to get his name from his license .. And he would say "would it be ok with you if we'll take this road as to avoid traffic" .. he does inform the passenger of the way ..  :)
